CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Apply Color To Selected Objects Without Having To Search For Color In Color Palette

Mar 13, 2012

Is there a way to apply a color to selected objects without having to search for the color in the color palette. So say if I am working with an image that has multiple colors but want to use only one of the colors in that image, is there a way to apply it without having to create or add it to the palette.

CorelDRAW X5 :: Contour Cut Setting For Roland

May 3, 2012

We are very, very new to the cutting of a corel design with my roland. I have letters that consist of a block letter with an 8 pt black outline as the back layer with a block letter and a 4 pt white outline as the top layer, making the shadow effect.
I convert curves and add my contour cut line, but it keeps appearing INSIDE the black outline and cuts the black out. The image cuts out fine and the one color part of the letter does, but the black and white outline shadows are cut out.
I've tried boundary and contouring every way I can figure. Obviously there is a setting/trick I don't know.

I have printed off the colour swatch within Versaworks, but when I use the colours (which have been imported from versaworks) in corel they do not print out the same colour. The media is the same. I have tried deleting the colours and readding them in but this does not seem to make any difference.

CorelDRAW X5 :: Unable To Print True Black From EPS On Roland

Aug 3, 2011

I recently upgraded my setup and my printer hasn't been able to print a nice true black ever since. My printer is a Roland SP 300 V and I use Versaworks. I upgraded to CorelDRAW x5 from version 11. When I send an eps file to Versaworks the printer prints a dark gray on RGB black and various greens for Pantone blacks. I printed a default test chart directly in Versaworks and the 100% K printed great. I pulled an older file out which was exported using Corel 11 and the black prints fine. I don't know if I'm doing something obvious wrong or what but x5 has a whole more check boxes and options when exporting an eps file and I'm starting to get lost.

CorelDRAW X5 :: Color Names - Palette To The Right

Jan 29, 2011

I'm using CorelDRAW X5. When I used version 12 and earlier versions, the color palette displayed on the right side of the screen showed color names. (I think you only saw the name when you selected a color.) Now instead I see only numerical values.
Is there a way to restore color names here? It seems this should be a simple option, like display color values or color names.

CorelDRAW X4 :: How To Get Default Color Palette Back

Nov 9, 2011

After a little while the color palette suddenly became glaringly fluorescent and no amount of rebooting could get my original color palette back. After that I opened the Palette Editor under Tools and fiddled around the Sort button settings there. This changed the order I was seeing the colors in my palette which stayed as fluorescent as ever and the original sequence would not come back no matter what I did. I read up a bit and played around with the Color Management settings-in vain. As a last resort I have uninstalled and installed the program again-to no avail! What should I do? I tried the F8 start as well-that didn't work either.

CorelDRAW X6 :: Creating Custom Color Palette

Apr 24, 2013

I am having trouble creating a custom palette in Draw X6. I am trying to import (or create) a palette of a range of threads I use. There are around 300 swatches to create. I had this palette in Illustrator that I created from a CSV file using a script. It is in RGB colors. I need to have the swatch and thread number in the palette.
First, is there a way to convert a csv/xls/txt file into an palette xml file to make the palette automatically as I did in Illustrator?
Second, doing it manually is giving me trouble. I am following the below directions from the manual:
To create a custom color palette from scratch
1. Click Window Dockers Color palette manager.
2. Click the Creates a new empty color palette button.
3. Type a file name in the File name box.
4. Click Save.
5. In the Color palette manager, choose the custom palette that you created.
6. Click the Opens the Palette editor button.
7. In the Palette editor dialog box, click Add color.
8. In the Select color dialog box, choose a color, and click Add to palette.
I've gotten to Step 7, but there's where everything goes badly, When I add a color, the Select Color box comes up, and I choose the Models tab and choose an RGB. All my thread colors are in RGB. I can then input the RGB values in the cvs table, however, when I try to name the color with the thread color number (say '2005 - Petal Yellow'), it changes the RGB values to something else and changes the color in the preview box. It's like there is no way to give the color my own custom name. If I just bypass the naming and try to Add To Palette, it either tells me the color is already in the palette or I can't add any more because I've reached the maximum allowable entries....in a blank new palette file? Any color I choose from any of the pickers, or anything I enter in the value boxes just ends up with an error message.
I've checked the xml file of the new, supposedly blank, palette, and there are no colors or code, so what am I missing? Why can't I just input the color RGB values, name it, and add it? I can use the color picker to add colors to the palette, and after saving, that does show up in the xml file, but I don't have a document of color swatches, only a CSV. There's got to be a better way then making all the swatches in Draw, and also using the color picker on each one to make the palette.

CorelDRAW X5 :: Color Palette Causing Crash?

Sep 11, 2013

I am using X5 on a Win 7 64 bit system. I am having an issue with colors that manifests itself in 3 ways: When I try to change a color from rgb or cmyk to PMS, the program freezes and gives the error message that CorelDraw has stopped working. Files that have been created using more than one palette will not open on this system - although they will open fine on other machines running X5. Finally, if I even mouse-over the color palettes tab from the 'Windows' drop-down menu the same thing happens.
I have used F8 to reset the workspace and when that did not work, I re-installed Coreldraw with the same result.

CorelDRAW X6 :: Default Spot Color Palette?

May 23, 2012

I am trying to set up my CorelDraw x6 workspace so that the default spot color palette is set to Pantone solid coated.
I go to:Tools > Options (or Customization) > Global > Color > set 'Default spot color palette' to 'PANTONE solid coated'
Unfortunately this seems to be ignored by x6.
Every time i want to change from a CMYK color to Pantone i must do the following:
1) select the objec
t2) double click the color chip adjacent to the Fill icon in the Status Bar
3) which brings up:
4) from here I select the Palettes tab (if it is not already selected)5) then select from the Palette drop down menu:SPOT > PANTONE > PANTONE+ > Solid Coated
This is a very clumsy and inefficient way to work as I must do this EVERY time I want to change from CMYK to Pantone. Is there any way to get x6 to operate correctly or is there something I am missing?

CorelDRAW X5 :: Color Management - Palette Become Reflex RGB

Apr 21, 2010

The new color management system in CorelDraw X5. When I enable color management (only option is Microsoft ICM) in the Default Color Settings (under conversion settings) I get unfavorable results when converting a RGB to CMYK bitmap - it darkens and adds too much reflex color. When I disable the Color Conversion the bitmaps convert correctly, but the palette (and vector objects in the design) become reflex RGB.
Any generic prepress setting I can use that does not shift colours between RGB and CMYK bitmaps, and that displays the palette more accurately.
My current profile settings are:
RGB: sRGB IEC61966-2.1
CMYK: US Web Coated SWOP V2
Grayscale: Dot Gain 15%

CorelDRAW X6 :: Drag And Drop Color From Document Palette?

CorelDRAW X5 :: Getting Correct Color Names To Appear When Cursor Placed Over Them On Palette?

Sep 26, 2012

I have both Corel 12 and X5. A few years ago a friend of mine installed a custom color palette in my C12 that was matched to the Federal Standard 595 color system.
When I move the cursor over each color in the palette, it displays the FS number assigned to each color (ie. FS35237, FS37038, etc.)
I recently installed the same color palette into X5. However, when I move the cursor over each color, it displays the RGB color ratios for each color. If I open the palette and click on the 'display names' option, it shows the FS number for each color but reverts back to the RGB ratio when the palette is minimized to the right of my screen (I hope that makes sense).
How can I get the FS numbers to display when I move the cursor over the colors?

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 12 :: RGB Color Palette Looks Same As CMYK

Jul 19, 2007

My CMYK palette is the same hue as my RGB palette right now. I guess you know the difference. RGB looks bright and high in contrast like the ones used in Microsoft word. And the cmyk is, not the bright... Anyway, so the problem is...its the same color on my monitor. Its looks all RGB. On my other PC-2, its the other way around. My RGB palette looks like CMYK. Its not much of a problem with my PC-2 because i rarely use it for photo editing. Its just use for our cutting machine, the other one, my PC-1..
What's going on because it where i do most of my designs. And the color is a major factor there because most of our clients usually send their design to email and they have specific color. So, im having trouble doing designs. Is there a problem with my monitor? I tried editing my files on PC-2 but if i transfer it to PC-1 the color is different again... I cant get the exact (almost) color i want. The adobe gamma isn't do much either nor the monitor adjustment. Do i need to get a professional calibrator for all my PCs or are there downloadable calibrator on the internet? I was about to try the one about CorelDraw 12 Color Management guide but im still not sure about it. I have to read the infos first.
Here's from my PC-1. To the left is the CMYK and on the right is the RGB
Now here is from my PC-2. Left is CMYK and right is RGB.
When viewed from my PC-2..this one looks all CMYK (and dull)

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 :: Harsh And Wrong Color Palette

Jun 30, 2011

I have recently installed X4 after using X3 for a number of years, and it was working fine until suddenly the color pallet has changed to harsh very bright almost unreal RGB-like colours. CorelDRAW X6 :: Setting Default Color Palette For Fountain Fill

Jun 4, 2013

In previous versions of CorelDraw, I could set the default color palette for the fountain fill. But in X6 it doesn't seem to hold. Especially for the second color. It keeps going back to CMYK (even when color management is set to RGB) and when I click on palettes in the fountain fill box, it defaults to Pantone, so that I must click through many options to get back to my palette.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 :: RGB Color Palette Is A Copy Of CMYK

Jan 23, 2013

Something strange happened today when I was working on a cdr project. I think I have by mistake somehow managed to completely delete the original rgb palette, copied the cmyk palette and saved it as 'rgb' palette. As a result if I try to change the color palette, the rgb and the cmyk options are exactly the same palettes.
This happened whilst I was working on a cdr drawing. Somehow I managed to press a wrong key combination whilst trying to save (probably CTRL-something and then CTRL-S immediately after) and noticed that the colors on my drawing changed. I tried to undo, but nothing happened.
After some checking I realized that the original rgb color palette has been replaced with a copy of cmyk. If I now try to switch color palettes, the cmyk and the rgb are exactly the same palettes regardless of which cdr project I open (new or saved).
This is how I tried to fix the issue:
I tried F8 during startup - no change
I tried with the repair option of the installation cd - no change
I tried a removal and a new installation of the Suite - no change.
Could be worth a try: Maybe someone could send me a copy of their rgbstd.cpl-file so that I could replace mine in the C:Program Files (x86)CorelCorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4LanguagesENProgramsData
How to restore the rgb color palette to it's original status as I work mainly with drawings displayed on the net, not on printed materials and I'm getting desperate as I have a deadline tomorrow.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 :: Create A Color Chart With All Colors Of Single Palette?

Apr 11, 2013

Is there an easy :) way to create a color chart (which I can print later) with Corel Draw?
1. I want to use a single color palette, e.g. one of the Pantone range.
2. Each color of this palette should be the filling of a certain shape (all shapes are similar), so that the number of shapes equals the number of colors in the palette.

For some reason a Document Color Palette doesn't appear by default when I create a new document. It did at one time, but now I have to manually activate it. Not sure what I did to cause this change in behavior, but I'd like to get it back as a default.
