Webkinz Home Before Dark Game

Yesterday afternoon, Audrey stopped at my home on her way to the supermarket… with all 4 boys. Once inside, William and Alex begged me to play games with them. They have discovered my game hiding place – under the bed in the “yellow” bedroom up the back staircase. How could I say anything but a resounding, “Of course!” Benjamin wasn’t too happy about getting all bundled up again and back into the car, but as William and Alex know, Benjamin, at 21 months, doesn’t exactly know how to follow the rules to Don’t Break the Ice, Hi Ho Cherry-O, Spelling Bee Bingo, Buckaroo, Let’s Go Fishin’, Candy Land, Operation and Hungry-Hungry Hippos. Yes, I have all these, and more, stored under that magic bed.

Jazz Monsters had retired only a couple days earlier. The object of the game is to get all the Webkinz (a Pinto, a Pig, an Elephant, a Yellow Lab, a Hippo, and a Leopard) home before the timer runs out.

Webkinz Home Before Dark Game

We always have the same routine when playing board games with Grandma. We arrange the stools at the kitchen counter. We decide what game we’ll begin with. Then the next ingredient is just plain fun. We usually play the same game 2 or 3 times and then move on to the next one. Yesterday was no different, except at one point William wanted to play with his Nemo-Pet on Webkinz. I bought Nemo for his birthday… and he is very diligent about taking care of Nemo’s food needs, play needs and necessities. So off we went to a computer for a little Webkinz fun.

Well, it’s certainly a challenge when you need to purchase a bathroom and all related appliances for your Webkinz pet… and all you have is 196 Webkinz “money.” William is amazingly adept at the Arcade, and he set about his work of earning Webkinz money for Nemo… but it takes a-lotta games and a-lotta winning to build and supply a bathroom (kind of like in real life). I’m talking $400. for an inexpensive bathtub and maybe $200. for a pretty plain toilet. And of course William reminded me that Nemo needs a sink… to wash his hands after he uses the toilet. I don’t think Nemo being a fish and all entered into William’s frame of reference in the washing-hands department. Thank goodness!

Anyway… when it was time for the boys to head home, William had earned $200. – not enough for all his pet’s needs… so I told him that I would play some games and answer some questions on Quizzy’s Corner. You know… earn Nemo some money! Well, this morning, I did just that. I logged in, I began my favorite game – HOME AFTER DARK – and I played and played and challenged myself until I got to Level 8. That, my friends, is my record! I also clicked over to Quizzy’s Corner, where you answer a series of questions (I chose ages 5-6 ‘cuz I’m so smart!)… and I played that little game for just a wee little while.

In the end… I earned $1,200. for my little William’s Nemo. Plenty for his bathroom and all its necessary appliances. I can’t wait for William to log-on today at his home and see that Grandma came through BIG TIME.

Hey… never challenge a Grandma when it comes to helping out a grandchild. She’ll always win!
